Hi! I’m McKinna
and I’m so happy you’re here.
kin house studio is not a physical place - but (metaphorical) house to home a multitude of creative outlets.
I’m an artist, a photographer, a yoga/movement instructor, a thinker & maker at heart. Each offering feels a unique opportunity to interface with the world with a little more curiosity, a focus on presence, and simple celebration of being.
The search for light, the connection of breath to body, the object formed -all expressions of this curiosity filtered into embodied creativity.
I hold pop-up events, lead yoga/movement classes, photograph cherished moments, and create artwork in various mediums and disciplines.
Whether it be guiding your movement or capturing your moments - I am grateful you landed here.
in gratitude,
McKinna
a touch more in depth and length -
I have a Masters degree in Fine Art as well as a Bachelors of Fine Art degree, both with a specialization in Photography. I photograph, sculpt and weld; I grow crystals, I build installations, I record the passage of time, and am a sponge to learning new things. I have attended artist residencies in Berlin and New York City, and exhibited work in many places.
I am a certified yoga and barre instructor. Stemming from 12 years as a competitive athlete, tuning movement of the body has been a lifelong undercurrent of learning, growing, and adapting. I have worked in hospitality for over 10 years from high end cocktail programs in Boston, to a French Creperie on Anna Maria Island, an all-day cafe in Nashville, and street tacos from Tampa to Boulder.
I love to dance in my living room, and am a big believer in the wearing many hats while donning a bag of many tricks.
My hope and goal is that this is a genuine, accountable flow of creative output and energy which allows for change and adaptation.
